Junior Rumaga

Junior Rumaga is a prominent Rwandan poet born on July 3, 1999, in Ruhango, before moving with his family to Muhanga, where he grew up. The nickname "Rumaga" has roots in his family's history, attributed by his grandfather Nsekanabo, inspired by Nyirarumaga, the mother of Rwandan poetry, acknowledging the young Rumaga's potential in the art form. Rumaga's contributions to Rwandan poetry have been profound, marked by his innovative use of video to present his works, a novel approach in the Rwandan arts scene that has endeared him to many. His poem "Umogore Si Umuntu" stands out as part of his significant body of work, which has been well-received and celebrated by Rwandans for its depth and artistic quality.
